Vocational Training Centres
General:
| This scheme has been launched for the benefit of the daughters/ wives/ widows of beneficiaries so as to impart training in cutting, tailoring, stitching, hand and machine knitting, embroidery and flower making, etc. |
| There are 38 Vocational Training Centers established by National Police Foundation situated at following places: – |

In schools the trust is mainly to provide quality education to the police beneficiaries at affordable cost with 50% concession in tuition fee. NPF is further committed to establish more model schools, subject to availability of police land/ building and resources, etc.
Accommodation:
Local police is responsible for providing accommodation and necessary furniture for the vocational center. They are also responsible for the maintenance of the accommodation and provision of necessary utilities.
Machinery/ Equipment:
Lady Teachers:
Lady teachers are selected by NPF on the recommendations of the DPO/ SP concerned for their formal appointment. They must be matriculates and holder of a diploma from any recognized technical institution. Preference is given to the daughters/ wives/ widows of beneficiaries.
Duration of the course:
One year
Admission:
Admission is made on prescribed forms stating the vocational activity the candidate intrested in and her educational qualification.
Timings of the centers:
The timings of the centers are usual office hours. However there is no bar to holding classes in the evening if the situation demands.
Pay of the lady teacher:
She is paid by the National Police Foundation in a consolidated pay.
Attendant:
One attendant, preferably a lady constable, is to be provided to the vocational center by the local police for security purposes and for miscellaneous jobs.
Stipend:
Monthly stipend of Rs.200/- is also given to deserving students (beneficiaries only).duly recommended by the DPO. This facility is provided to the children of the police officers of the Sub-Inspector rank and below.
Private Students:
There is no bar on the admission of private students, if the number of beneficiary students is less than ten. Private students will have to pay admission fee @ Rs, 50/- as well as the monthly tuition fee @ Rs. 50/- p.m.
Tuition Fee:
No, fee is charged from the beneficiaries.
Supervision:
The centers are run under the direct supervision of the DPO concerned. DPO/ DSP is responsible for sending monthly inspection reports to this office on prescribed forms.
Timings of the centers
The timings of the centers are usual office hours. However there is no bar to holding classes in the evening if the situation demands.
Diplomas:
Diplomas are given to successful students after the completion of the course. The lady teacher is responsible for conducting tests and for sending to the office of the Director Welfare at HQ, the list of successful students duly attested by the DPO concerned. The first three students amongst the successful candidates will be given cash awards on the recommendations of the lady teacher. A simple function is arranged for the distribution of the diplomas, which is presided over by the DPO or any other senior officer.
